Clifton opens up grape operations

Outdoor Nursery manager Guy Pullen: “It is used for wine production in Eastern Europe and the USA, but eaten as a table grape in France. Ours are sweet enough to eat; we do not spray them and after a wash, the grapes should be quite tasty. There has been enough sunshine this summer to produce a really good crop and the recent cold spell will only help to sweeten the fruit that has flourished over the summer months.”

Donation boxes will be on counters beside the tills and donations will be given to a local school.

This article has made everyone at FEAST think about what happens to all the fruit and veg on plants and trees in garden centres?

Also parks and school grounds often have precious food growing on the premises which could be used instead of wasted. Do you know anywhere that wastes food, or has a scheme like Clifton to minimise waste?

If you have any thoughts or comments that you can add please comment on our blog. We would really love to hear from you!
