Following on from the Food and Farming for REAL event that was held at Kilnsey show earlier this year, a web site has been created to generate support for the uplands.

We know that many of you attended the Kilnsey show this year and from your feedback, very much enjoyed the Food and Farming for REAL showcase that was held there.

We would be grateful if you would take the time to visit the REAL web site at www.foodandfarming4real.co.uk and show your support for the uplands by joining the mailing list. Many volunteers have been collecting signatures and email addresses at various events and REAL would now like to show the government the level of support that exists.

Hill farming communities play a vital role in many areas of our lives, literally providing access to everything from food to fresh air. Food and Farming for REAL is organised by farmers and small businesses who believe passionately in the preservation of the uplands and the communities that depend on them.

We're looking for 20 people to take part in an exciting campaigning programme for Channel 4. If you’re interested in how a poor or extreme diet may be affecting your body, we'd like to hear from you.

Our 20 participants will undergo a battery of medical tests and nutritional analyses to find out how food - especially junk food - affects our health and our life expectancy.

Whether you’re fat or thin, a junk food addict, ready-meal queen or even a foodie – if you want to know how healthy you are, we’d like to hear from you.
